Middle school students are offered opportunities to develop leadership skills and spiritual growth by participating in an organization called Victory in Service to Others (VISTO) that raises awareness of and funds and supplies for those in need.
Some of these school-wide activities are:
Preparing and collecting sandwiches for the homeless weekly
Collecting clothing and supplies for underprivilaged newborns
Holding bake sales and "cakewalks" to raise moneyfor victims of natural disasters both nationally and internationally
Collecting and assembling bags of personal grooming supplies for the homeless
Holding canned and boxed fooddrives for the poor
Students are also invited to participate in the annual coat drive and "Giving Tree" program in which school and parish families contribute Christmas gifts to children in shelters.
Students in charge of these activites are invited to morning assembly to explain these events and share the experiences of serving.
